Hebrew Skills Advance Brain Development

Hebrew, the ancient holy language of our people and a dynamic modern language, is an important vehicle for communication. Students build on skills acquired through a proficiency approach to language acquisition by conversing, writing and reading in modern Hebrew, as well as reading basic traditional Jewish texts. Additionally, studies show the acquisition of a second language helps in brain development, particularly in the area of mathematics, and the best time to acquire a second language is during these elementary school years.

    BRAWERMAN Students at Astrocamp

    Just two hours east of  Los Angeles, Grade 5 students from Brawerman East and West found themselves a world apart.

    It was an October trip to AstroCamp, an outdoor science school in the San Jacinto Mountains near the town of Idyllwild. There, in keeping with AstroCamp’s motto, Challenge by Choice,  students connected with one another through required teamwork, pushed themselves toward new experiences and connected with nature through a deeper understanding of our planet and solar system.
