Alumna Makes Her Way Back Home

When Haley Ginsberg walked into Brawerman this September on her first day of school as a faculty member, it was far from her first day on campus. In fact, this return to Brawerman took place one decade after her own Grade 6 graduation. Her homecoming signaled a remarkable milestone in Brawerman history: for the first time, a Brawerman alum has returned as a member of the faculty.

Jenna Ashendouek, Class of 2012

Jenna Ashendouek, Brawerman class of 2012, is currently a senior at Windward School. During Jenna’s time at Brawerman, she grew to appreciate the strength of her voice and the importance of speaking up. Since leaving Brawerman, she has worked to be a strong leader in her community. Elected Prefect by her class has allowed Jenna to represent her fellow students while working closely with faculty and administrators. Additionally, she currently is an intern for the Windward Communications Department, writing and reporting for various school publications. Jenna is passionate about journalism, political science, and international relations; she hopes to pursue these fields in college.

Benjamin Pimstone, Class of 2012

Benjamin Pimstone, Brawerman class of 2012, graduated from Harvard-Westlake School and is currently attending Kenyon College in Ohio. While at Brawerman, Benjamin, a singer and guitar player, was a choir member and performed with Brawerman’s Shul of Rock (a group of musical students who performed together). Since graduating from Brawerman, Benjamin has continued to pursue his passions for performing and writing. In his free time, he writes songs, works out, and volunteers at an animal shelter as well as in a local fifth-grade class, where he assists with writing instruction.

Lily Zweig, Class of 2010

As a proud member of the Brawerman Alumni, Lily has carried forward countless memories, friends, and lessons with her. Currently attending UC Berkeley, where she's working towards a degree in Media Studies, Lily has been inspired to pursue a career in criminal law. She has worked as an intern in the Criminal Section of the Civil Rights Division at the Department of Justice as part of a study abroad program and credits Brawerman as the foundation of her learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
