Brawerman Elementary School
Philosophy
is an academic school built upon a foundation of Jewish values. At the core of our high scholastic achievement is a well developed, integrated and thematic curriculum. In academics, we seek to inspire learners who think critically and take intellectual risks. We teach that asking questions is as important as constructing answers. Our program emphasizes the mastery of skills and concepts, allowing students to communicate effectively and solve problems, both independently and in groups. We believe students learn by doing through hands-on experiences. Because students learn in different ways, a variety of instructional strategies are used to meet student needs.

We are committed to supporting the development of our students as passionate, knowledgeable Jewish mensches. Brawerman provides students and parents with a community that shares Jewish celebration and prayer, pride in Israel and the practice of a moral standard. From competency in Hebrew, Jewish history, Torah and meaningful observance, our students develop an enthusiastic, lifelong commitment to the Jewish community. We believe students are inspired when they find meaning and relevance in their studies. An integrated secular and Judaic curriculum enables us to provide that meaning.

We believe teachers who are themselves enthusiastic, lifelong learners are important role models for their students. Therefore, our teachers are encouraged to continue their own education through staff development opportunities. Teachers who feel empowered and are a part of the decision-making process hold a high degree of ownership in a school. Our teachers are dedicated, talented educators who seek to bring wonder and the joy of learning into their classrooms everyday.
