Judaic Ritual
To instill and foster a respect for our surroundings, morning prayers and blessings before and after food are recited on a daily basis. As students mature, the increased number of blessings recited provides them with many opportunities to express gratitude and thanks.Students gather regularly as a school community for prayer services. For each grade this experience is varied, providing each class with age appropriate opportunities to learn the prayers and to cultivate an awareness of a personal relationship with God.
Students participate in service learning projects which allow them to address social concerns in a constructive manner. Tikkun Olam, defined as Repair the World, is a central value which has been embraced by the Jewish people for centuries. Tikkum Olam projects on the school wide and individual classroom level encourage students to use their resources to improve injustice in the world at large.
