1. How old does my child have to be to apply for Kindergarten?Kindergarten applicants must be five years old on or before September 1 of the entering year. Tours are held September through December. Applications are due in December. Please see our website for specific dates and times.
2. What is your sibling policy?
We understand that families want to keep children together at the same school whenever possible. Siblings are given priority once they have met admissions requirements.
3. What schools do students matriculate to after graduating from Brawerman?
Our graduates matriculate to highly competitive independent schools such as Archer School of Girls, Brentwood, Buckley, Crossroads, Harvard-Westlake, Marlborough, Milken, New Roads, Wildwood and Windward, as well as local public middle schools schools. Last year, 85% of our sixth graders were accepted to their first choice schools.
4. What does it cost to send my child to Brawerman Elementary School?
Tuition for Temple members for the current school year is $21,500 plus school fees. Tuition for non-Temple members is $24,000 plus school fees. Additionally, there is a new student admission fee. Tuition assistance is available.
5. What are the criteria for admission?
Admission to kindergarten is decided by the child’s developmental readiness and school developed evaluations. In addition, parent interviews and student observations help us get to know each applicant. Admission to Grades 1-6 is decided by developmental readiness, academic ability, previous school record and performance on testing administered at our school.
6. How many students are enrolled at Brawerman Elementary?
Brawerman Elementary has 262 students and an average class size of 20. The student to teacher ratio in the general studies classroom is approximately 10 to 1.
7. Do you have an after school program?
Yes! Brawerman is delighted to offer a wide variety of athletics and extracurricular activities to our students including: Chess, Chinese, Drama, Funky Divas Dance, Guitar, Homework Club, iPlay Sports, Mad Science, Super Soccer, Woodworking and more.
