Academic programs are guided by California State Standards and emphasize the introduction, practice and mastery of salient skills; the exposure to a particular body of core knowledge; the ability to use and evaluate knowledge through critical and independent thinking; and the goal of helping students seek and understand connections between ideas in their various studies. We believe that competence and confidence are related, and through planned lessons and experimentation, students acquire both.
