Shabbat Across Brawerman - From West to East
Sign Up Now! March 2 and 3, 2012
Shabbat is a time for us to gather together and reflect on the week that passed and to be thankful for all the blessings we have in our lives. It is a special time to be shared with special people, and that is why we are pleased to invite you back to our very own SHABBAT ACROSS BRAWERMAN and continue this wonderful weekend tradition. Last year was a tremendous success with over 100 families joining in the spirit of Shabbat.
Many of you have said over the years that you would like the opportunity to meet and get to know other parents in our school community. We are constantly striving to provide you with more options to do so and now, along with our community building Party Book, we have Shabbat Across Brawerman. This is an opportunity for all of us to make new acquaintances and strengthen existing friendships as we celebrate in the spirit of Shabbat.
Here’s how it works: On Friday evening, March 2, 2012 we will gather together in different homes to celebrate Shabbat. Families who would like to be hosted, or host other families, sign up to do so (see below for instructions). Our hope is that families will take this opportunity to host and be hosted by families they do not already know.
If you are interested in being hosted or hosting a family or families in your home for this special Shabbat, please click here and complete the information in each column, including how many people you would like to host (including kids) and whether you would like to host families you know or families whom you may not know well. You will be contacted by our planning committee for this event to arrange your evening. It is our wish that everyone who would like to host or be hosted will have the opportunity to share in this very special experience.
Then, on Saturday, March 3, 2012 we invite all our families (adults and children) to a Havdallah Experience. Join us on the Irmas campus from 5 -7 pm. Bring a picnic and get ready to enjoy a beautiful Havdallah ceremony. There will be fun activities for all.
Make this weekend one to remember. Let’s join together as a community and experience a Shabbat like no other – A SHABBAT FROM WEST TO EAST - A SHABBAT ACROSS BRAWERMAN.
